The 44th Super Bowl was played tonight, and it certainly was a memorable game. It was especially memorable for New Orleans. Four years after the city was ravaged by a monstrous hurricane, New Orleans finally has something to celebrate. No one saw this coming before the season. If people were talking about pre-season super bowl predictions, no one would mention the Saints. After they made it to the NFC title game against Chicago in 2006, people said their season was successful only because of emotion. "They'll just go back to being the 'Aints' next year" people would say. But finally, after years of struggle, after years of fans wearing paper bags over their heads, the Saints and New Orleans have something to celebrate. After a hard fought victory was sealed by a 74 yard Tracy Porter interception return for a touchdown, the party on Bourbon Street began. New Orleans is quite possibly the happiest city ever right now. When Saints owner Tom Benson was asked how happy he was with head coach Sean Payton, he replied "I think i could kiss him." So, after yet another season of football, New Orleans is the king of the NFL. I think the only way Saints fans could be happier is if the famous Benson Boogie had made an appearance on the sidelines tonight.
