After seeing the fallout from Kelvin Sampson's dismissal and hiring a very young coach in Jeff Capel only 4 years ago, I thought it may be a long time before OU was playing in March again. Joe Castiglione has proven himself once again to be a great AD and that Oklahoma doesn't just have to be a "Football school." Hopefully potential season ticket buyers will see it the same way. Now focusing on the goal at hand- beating Syracuse. At least Carmelo Anthony isn't playing for them anymore, right?

0 Comments - Leave a Comment
Mon, 23 Mar 2009 21:51:33 -0500What a Super Bowlhttp://sportsanimal.oklahoma.net/soonerferg/blog/2009/02/02/what_a_super_bowl
I gotta admit- I was not too excited for last night's Super Bowl. My highest hope was to see some good commercials. I had no idea it would turn out to be one of the greatest Super Bowls ever. The Commisioner Roger Goodell immediately declared it better than last year's, but I can't quite give it that distinction. The Giants beat an undefeated team and came from behind. Just imagine if the Cards had even got a field goal at the end of the first half and didn't throw the 101 yard INT for a TD. So many things could have happened to change the outcome of that game, and it was exciting and entertaining to watch. Way to go, Super Bowl XLIII.

0 Comments - Leave a Comment
Mon, 02 Feb 2009 09:43:33 -0600Blake Griffin keep playing home games in this state!http://sportsanimal.oklahoma.net/soonerferg/blog/2009/01/30/blake_griffin_keep_playing_home_games_in_this_state
I know this is a tall order, but if the Thunder manage to snage Blake Griffin in this year's draft- I wanna be the first to say it: The Thunder make the playoffs next year.

It may be 8th spot, and they may get swept in the first round, but with the nucleus of talent in Durant, Green, and Westbrook, I think that Blake Griffin will provide that extra push that will get the Thunder enough wins for a postseason berth. Just look at the difference in the Spurs win/loss column the year after they drafted Tim Duncan. Whether or not Blake will ever put up numbers like the Big Fundamental is yet to be seen, but I think he's got it.

0 Comments - Leave a Comment
Fri, 30 Jan 2009 13:40:29 -0600
